Decidedly dark and often frightening electronic music, using a sonic palette of crumbling drum samples, horror-movie snippets and unusual electronic hardware. Antidröm, based in the rural fens outside of Cambridge, is passionate about drawing out one’s emotional connection with musical darkness.
The release sits well alongside those on Blackest Ever Black and the darker end of Tri-Angle Records, with some of the sounds reminiscent of early Mike Paradinas / µ-Ziq productions. Antidröm himself cites Autechre, Biosphere, and Richard H Kirk as his major influences, with The Higher Intelligence Agency, Sunn O))) and a heavy dose of drone.
